GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Thursday, November 17, 2022)   This Saturday, more than $1.85 million in purse money will be paid out on the biggest race night of the year at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. A total of 11 races will be contested on the card, including five stakes for some of the fastest Quarter Horses in the country.   The evening will be highlighted by the richest race in Texas, of any breed, the Grade 1, $1,209,172.91 Texas Classic Futurity. The field was determined by from 18 trials held over two days on October 27 and 28. The five fastest times from each night of trials advanced to Saturday’s final.   Morning line oddsmaker, Rick Lee, has installed Doin It Just For Fun as the 7/5 favorite. The gelded son of FDD Dynasty, by a Mr Jess Perry mare, Jess a Classy Lady, has won four of five starts this year including a 1 3/4 length victory over a fast track in his trial on October 27. The M. Heath Taylor trainee’s time of :19.743 was the quickest of all runners on his night of qualifying, and fifth fastest overall. Jockey Rodrigo Vallejo has been in the irons for all four of the Texas-bred gelding’s wins, and will be aboard once again in the Texas Classic Futurity (G1). Doin It Just For Fun drew post position number 9.   One Perfect Lady, will look to add to her lifetime earnings of $236,507 as she breaks from post position number 2 in the Texas Classic Futurity (G1). The sorrel filly by Bogart, out One Perfect Eagle by One Famous Eagle was the odds-on favorite for a 1/2 length winning effort in the Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park on October 1. Rolando Almanza trains for La Feliz Montana Ranch and Noe Garcia, Jr. has been named to ride.   A supplemental entry to the Texas Classic Futurity (G1), Rock a Jess V, was the fastest of all qualifiers covering the 400 yards in :19.596. The homebred gelding for owner Valeriano Racing Stables LLC is one of four horses trained by Santos Carrizales, Jr. that qualified for the Texas Classic Futurity (G1). This son of World Champion Apollitical Jess will be ridden by Juan Pulido and drew post position number 3.   The entire field, with morning line odds, is listed below:
