05/03/2025..VINTON, LA. – Delta Downs hosted 11 trials for this year’s Louisiana Laddie Futurity on Saturday night. After the dust had settled it was Jaime Cardenas’ Rf Fast Dash N Blood ($4.20) who came away with the fastest clocking while winning the ninth race on the program.

THE $268,895 FINAL TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY, MAY 24

Under jockey Victor Urieta, Jr., Rf Fast Dash N Blood burst from the gate in the 330-yard race and reported home in front while stopping the timer in 16.898 seconds. That time earned him a speed index of 89.

The win by Rf Fast Dash N Blood was the first of his three-race career for trainer Miguel Castillo. He previously finished second in his trial for the $399,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (G2) at Louisiana Downs on March 8. He eventually finished fifth in the rich final on March 29.

Bred in Louisiana by Rogers Farm/Tim/Jennie Rogers, Rf Fast Dash N Blood is a 2-year-old bay gelding by Apollitical Blood, out of the Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb. He was purchased for $80,000 at the 2024 LQHBA Yearling Sale.

Each trial carried a purse of $10,000 on Saturday night and the winners took home $6,000 each. The winner of the $268,895 final will bank a $134,447.
