02/25/2018.. Ft. Worth Stockyards and ATT Stadium Arlington, Texas – RFDTV, the Ft. Worth Stockyards and AT&T Stadium really knocked the ball out of the Park with the RDFTV The American Rodeo. This was my first time to attend this event, so most of the week I was a little confused about how all the qualifying events were unfolding. But that really didn’t matter, there was no time to get bored because of all the action and entertainment available.

And even the though the weather got pretty nasty at times, it did not seem to dampen anyone’s spirits at all. It certainly didn’t bother me.

The 2 million dollars in prize money that RFDTV was offering for the events, lured most of the top rodeo performers and livestock in the business. While the historic Ft. Worth Stockyards and Cowtown Coliseum presented the perfect atmosphere for a great week around cows, horses, trucks, trailers, spurs, guitars and cowboy hats. If you were to get restless for something different, some of the best steak houses and live music you will find anywhere, were within walking distance of the Cowtown Coliseum.

I spent part of the week partaking in some of the Cowtown watering holes and live music myself. Most of the time, I would end up at either the Whiskey Girl Saloon or The White Elephant. You never knew who would end up on stage singing, but the talent available was unbelievable. During the week, I did not drag my camera around with me, but I managed to get a few good shots in, mainly at the finals in AT&T Stadium. I would like to thank Heather Blankenship of LonestarPR for helping me with Media Credentials, providing me ground level access to the events.

The opening ceremony for the final was phenomenal. It was a celebration of Patriotism, and honor of our Military, Veterans, Rodeo Performers and our Flag. The music of Runaway June was perfect (I am now a huge fan), and Abby Anderson brought tears to my eyes with her version of the National Anthem.
Then there was a world class rodeo. I had a blast.
